POW! Mag is written by students for students. Pick up your copy for free on campus, or check it out online.
Each magazine contains a massive mix of content, including sport, opinion, culture, fashion and food, as well as campus and national news. Each section is edited by a student team, who are always keen to share your views, represent your concerns and run the features you want to see.
Whatever your interests, there's a way to contribute. You could break the latest campus news, promote society events, share your photos or work, write about issues you care about or contribute a review - films, gigs, books, music!
POW! TV is your very own campus TV station, run by students for students!
In collaboration with the university’s TV Production department and students, the team produces news features, gossip, entertainment programmes and documentaries, as well as coverage of major campus events, from sports matches and socials to student elections.
Maybe you’re a media student, or maybe you study something totally unrelated - either way, your contributions will be valued! Working on a TV show with POW! TV is a fantastic chance to develop your creative talents, pick up filmmaking techniques and learn to use state-of-the-art equipment. There are roles for students interested in picking up experience with lighting, sound design, video editing, presenting, producing and shooting.
POW! FM is the official radio station of MDXSU, run by students, for students! Our schedule offers something for everyone: breakfast shows, interviews with local politicians, and music shows that range from chart to underground.
POW! FM is also a platform for running music nights on campus, featuring either homegrown student talent or bringing in top DJs. Any student can put on a night by working with the POW! FM and MDXSU.
POW! FM gives you the opportunity, get practical experience with researching and presenting a radio show, learn how to use technical recording equipment in our custom built radio studio and represent MDXSU at both a local and national level at conferences, events and awards.
